We offer MCA Master, USCG and RYA Yachtmaster courses in Antibes, Fort Lauderdale & Palma for those starting in yachting and all the required modules to reach the highest levels of professional yachting.

    STCW Basic Training

    You will find it difficult to obtain a job in yachting unless you have attended the STCW Basic Training course, course required on any commercially registered yacht. This training course is provided in Europe & USA.

Refresher

REFRESHER COURSES

The STCW 2010 requires the STCW safety training courses to be refreshed every 5 years. The refresher courses are split between the basic and advanced modules.

    Basic refreshers:

    Updated Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and Personal Survival Techniques

    - 2-day course

    Advanced refreshers:

    Updated Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting

    - 1/2 day course + proof you have done the basic course within the last 5 years

    Updated Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (Restricted)’’

    (Used to be known as Advanced Survival)

    - 1/2 day course + proof you have done the basic course within the last 5 years

    If you take the bundle of the basic and advanced refresher courses, this will be 3 days.

These courses are designed to promote the skills needed to lead an organisation, the different modules are mandatory depending on your career path.

    A combination of lectures, case studies, group table-top exercises and practical problem solving tasks, students will learn how to prioritise tasks, motivate individuals and foster an effective team ethic.

    The 2010 ’Manilla’ amendments to the STCW convention introduced, for the first time, a requirement for management and leadership training for all ships’ officers.

    This course has been mandatory since 1st September 2013.
