What Is World Boating Day 2025?
On May 24, 2025, the global boating industry comes together for World Boating Day:
A one-day international celebration dedicated to the people who bring boating to life.
This isn’t about exclusivity, luxury, or giving more props to the UHNWIs who make setting sail possible for so many of us — it’s about recognizing the crew, shipbuilders, designers, creatives, and industry pioneers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Without these key (but often overlooked) maritime legends, boats and boating would only get so far.
Backed by The Superyacht Life Foundation, the campaign invites the entire boating world — from recreational to professional — to open its doors and share what makes this industry so vibrant, creative, and necessary.

Why World Boating Day Matters
Boating is more than a lifestyle: it's a craft, a culture, and a community.
In 2024, 46 events across 9 countries brought together professionals and newcomers alike. From shipyard tours in Italy to career days in Australia, the impact was clear: World Boating Day builds public understanding, inspires the next generation, and connects the marine world with new audiences.
The digital campaign reached 14 million people, gained over 20 million impressions, and drove more than 35,000 clicks across Instagram and Facebook. More than 200 posts were shared using #worldboatingdayposts, showing the growing support for this global movement.
It’s also an opportunity for businesses and professionals to build visibility, tell their story, and celebrate their people. Whether you’re a marina manager, yacht designer, or crew member, your contribution deserves to be seen and appreciated.

Who Can Take Part?
Can you wave? Great! Everyone is welcome to World Boating Day 2025.
From global yacht brands to family-run marinas, sailing schools, and independent crew, World Boating Day is free and open to all. You don’t need a big budget or polished PR plan. Just a willingness to open your world for a day, to smile, and to wave.
Events can be as simple as:
A dockside Q&A with your crew
A sailing taster session for local youth
A guided tour of your shipyard or studio
Or even a fun, social team video waving at the camera
Whether online or in person, big or small, every wave matters.
