Local knowledge is essential when guiding an expedition or cruise in remote areas. Whatever the destination, a well-defined itinerary and planning is key to a memorable underwater and land experience on a superyacht.

SPECIAL ENCOUNTERS
HUMPBACK WHALES
Between July and November each year, these giants travel about 4,000km from the Antarctic to the warm tropical waters of The Islands of Tahiti to mate and give birth. They are best seen from mid-August through late October.
SHARKS
Meet pods of grey reef sharks, lemon sharks, tiger sharks, stingrays playing with black tip sharks and maybe hammerhead sharks…
GROUPERS’ SPAWNING
During the full moon of June or July, thousands of marbled groupers aggregate in the natural shallow and narrow south pass of UNESCO biosphere Fakarava atoll.

SUPERYACHT TENDERS
Our 2 semi-inflatable units are available to offer extra exploration opportunities whether it is during the whale season around the island of Moorea or as an extra tender to the yacht for a guests’ cruise around the country. The tenders have been specifically designed to meet superyacht tender expectations including a strong towing eye.

Meet the Founders
Through their knowledge of the superyacht industry and wide expertise of the South Pacific, combining their passion for diving with their respective experiences led to the set up of Tahiti Private Expeditions in 2006.

Acting as the Managing Director for Tahiti Private Expeditions, she deals with the company marketing, PR and strategic developments.
Christelle previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry in both the USA and Europe dealing with PR and liaising on European operational projects before she joined the high-end hospitality industry working for the Aman group.
Her background naturally led her to join the yachting and diving industry a few years after Rodolphe and she relocated to French Polynesia. She worked as a stewardess aboard a couple of Tahiti based luxury charter yachts travelling to the various islands of the country.
Christelle also brought her expertise for 8 years as a consultant to the local board of tourism “Tahiti Tourisme” designing strategic plans and promoting the destination to the superyacht industry worldwide.
She is a member on the Board of Directors of the International Superyacht Society.
Of course, she is also an experienced keen diver and she has been diving French Polynesia extensively over the years!

His combined expertise as a marine naturalist and dive instructor along with his knowledge of the various archipelagos has made him and his team the leading dive guides / expeditions leaders onboard superyachts in the area where he has been living for over 20 years.
Further to field studies with marine mammal biologists over several years, Rodolphe has acquired tremendous experience in dolphin & whale watching and behavioural understanding.
As an underwater professional photographer, film maker and award winner of the 2nd Tahiti Underwater Film Festival (FISPOL), he is regularly involved in the filming of TV documentaries. His broad experience in technical rebreather diving allows him to get much closer to marine wildlife.
Thanks to his broad expertise onboard various kinds of yachts, he is also consulted for the dive outfitting / dive operation set-up on new build and reconversion projects.
Rodolphe manages the team of guides, which he has fully trained to meet Tahiti Private Expeditions’ highest standards while aboard a yacht and is strongly involved in the company’s developments.
